On the 19th of July each year the Maniot priest from Tseria holds a ceremony and prays for all the people from this high mount peak. People climb up and down from both the western and the eastern slopes. Many will spend the night on Taleton.

At 2,407 meters the temperature, even in July, may be as low as -8 degrees Celsius and the wind may be as strong as 12 on the Beaufort scale.

The view from the top is impressive, but when the sun starts to set the picture is unique. The shadow of the pyramid in imprinted on the valley of the Evrotas river. This is an ideal occasion for photographs.

When night falls the visitors set fires to warm up. The flames can be seen from hundreds of kilometers away. In our minds come the sacrifices from the dawn of time and the chariot of the Sun.
